When you right-click on the
256x256 pixel preview of the icon –the biggest of the icon
previews– you will get a context menu with two options:
Copy to clipboard: this option will copy the image to the Windows Clipboard so you can paste it into any document or painting program.
Copying the image to the clipboard has a disadvantage: transparency is not copied. The image will be set over a white background.
Save as… this option will bring a dialog for you to specify the name and the folder where you want to save the image. It defaults to “My pictures” folder.
The image will be saved as
PNG with transparent background, so if you want to preserve the
image transparency, you should save it instead of copying it to the
clipboard.
