I cannot download the icons that where sync to the site. Ihave uploaded a lot of them. I had to redo the program, because ai had to re do my computer. Now the syc does not work on the program. It only downloads 3 folder icons that I had made recently.

Community libraries are back!

Some months ago we were forced to disable the community libraries due to the massive increase in size of the icomancer images and icons databases. User contents were being received and properly saved, but only for backup/restore purposes. Browsing the galleries to pick images or icons shared by other users was impossible: the preparation of the contents took several minutes and under certain circumstances, they caused crashes due to memory overflows.

During the last days we put our hands on the server code and optimized the databases. After several fails, we finally brought a good fix and, after running tests, we saw a speed increment similar to when icomancer had just a handful of users.

We made some stress tests and the server is now scratching its tummy most of the time, so we wrapped up the whole thing and announced it with bells and whistles.

So, feel free to take a look at other users images when crafting icons for your folders or pick from the icons gallery to imbue them directly

If you experience any issue, don't hesitate on posting a support request here on the forum!

Regards,

Alejandro Caballero
icomancer developer

PS: Here goes a warm hug and a big THANK YOU! to all the users that patiently waited for this issue to be fixed. We appreciate you guys!

Image automatically crafted in folder

Hello. I've just download the program and I have a question.

In Windows, when you name "folder" to an existing image in your folder, that image becomes automatically crafted in the icon of that folder. Is than possible with icomancer? I mean create a folder icon, without an specific image, and then the image named "folder" inside the folder becomes automatically the image crafted in the created icon.

The version 6.9.8-Q8 ImageMagick program does allow icomancer to start on XP, but after creating an account, and downloading the two icon libraries, icomancer wants to restart, but when it does, it has an error:

icomancer 1.3.7 has been released!

The downloads page has been updated with the latest icomancer release. Here the details:

We added a new ImageMagick version: 6.9.8. The previous version will be removed when updating.

Modified ImageMagick probing dialog and added a link for direct help. Well... this will kinda be redundantly obsolete, but we kept it just in case.

Removed the default folder shown on the crafter when invoked from the launcher with a single click.

Disabled the style selectors on the crafter when no image is specified to avoid ImageMagick exceptions.

WARNING: if you have a different version of ImageMagick installed, it may be broken by this update. If you want to avoid this, please download and install the Stand Alone version.

Please update your version when asked or download the update package from the downloads page :)

Does icomancer not detect ImageMagick after installing? Please read this!

There is an issue on Windows XP that prevents ImageMagick's COM object to be detected by icomancer, showing this message:

We don't know the cause for sure but seems to be related to Visual C++ redistributable binaries (perhaps an update). So after several tests and tries we found an ImageMagick version that works fine with icomancer.

If you're affected by this issue, please take the next steps:

1. Enter the Control Panel and click on Add/Remove Programs.
2. Uninstall ImageMagick:

3. Download the next ImageMagick installer and run it: ImageMagick-6.9.8-3-Q8
Follow installation steps. When reaching the final page, please make sure to have the next options selected:

Once ImageMagick is installed, icomancer should run fine:

We're going to include the update on the next release.

If you have issues after this, don't hesitate on posting a support request.
